12/2 Solid Type HCF MC Cable AIA

Southwire 55-52-79-01 is a 12/2 solid Type HCF cable for all-purpose hospital care facility installations. It features 2 conductors with AWG 12 solid construction, AIA (Aluminum Interlocked Armor), and a #10 solid AL ground wire. Rated 600 Volts.

Applications

• Used for branch-circuit wiring for general purpose, non-essential electrical systems in patient care areas of hospitals, medical, and other facilities, including nursing homes, dental offices, and outpatient facilities.
• Hazardous anesthetizing areas and essential electrical system circuits are prohibited, except where permitted per 2005 NEC 517.30(C)(3)(3).
• Meets needs for applications requiring redundant, dedicated, or isolated grounding paths.
• Suitable for environmental air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22(C), dry locations, and installations fished or embedded in plaster.
• Applies to Places of Assembly per NEC 518.4 and theaters per NEC 520.5.
• Permitted for installation in cable tray and approved raceways.
• Intended for under raised floors for information technology equipment conductors and cables per NEC 645.5(D) & 645.5(D)(2).
• Allows multiple neutral and multi-circuit cables totaling more than 4 current-carrying conductors.
