The 3M™ 7622-S-2 (3M stocking number 7100005956) is a QT-III Cold Shrink silicone rubber skirted termination kit for terminating 5, 8 and 15 kV solid dielectric shielded power cable, indoors or outdoors. Each kit makes three single-phase terminations on tape shield, wire shield or UniShield® cable. The one-piece, 2-skirt termination combines a UV-stable, tracking-resistant silicone rubber insulator with High-K stress relief (stress control tube plus conformable stress controlling compound) and a built-in environmental top seal, and is qualified as an IEEE Std. 48 Class 1 termination rated 110 kV BIL (15 kV class).

Conductor Range by Voltage Class (compression lugs or connectors)

• 5 kV: 4/0 AWG – 400 kcmil
• 8 kV: 3/0 AWG – 300 kcmil
• 15 kV: 2 AWG – 4/0 AWG (35 – 120 mm²)

Final kit selection is determined by cable insulation diameter: primary insulation O.D. 0.64" – 1.08" (16,3 – 27,4 mm), jacket O.D. 0.97" – 1.48" (24,6 – 37,7 mm). The 7622-S-2(L) variant pairs with 3M™ Mechanical Shearbolt Lugs QL2 Series (1/0 – 4/0 AWG at 15 kV, part QL2-A-2-250).
