UL 1229 Code
UL Style 1229 is for appliance wiring material with a 600V AC rating and a 90°C temperature limit, designed for internal appliance wiring. It consists of a single conductor with extruded PVC insulation, suitable for dry, wet, and optionally oil environments.

- Temperature Rating: 90°C (Dry), 60°C (Wet), optional 60°C or 80°C (Oil)
- Voltage Rating: 600 Vac
- Conductor Size: 8 AWG - 2 AWG, solid or stranded
- Insulation Material: Extruded PVC
- Minimum Insulation Thickness: 62 mils (average), 55 mils (minimum at any point)
